Born in Braga, Portugal.
1953-1957
Studies Painting at Escola Superior de Belas Artes de Lisboa.
1961-1962
Studies Fashion at Saint Martin's School of Art and Design in London. Abandons due to financial difficulties.
1961-1962
Works on sets and costumes for Companhia Nacional de Bailado and on the wardrobe for Verdes Anos, while at the studio of Manuel Lapa, her teacher at ESBAL.
1963-1965
Works at the studio of Duarte Nuno Simões and José Santa-Rita.
1967
Completes her Painting studies at ESBAL.
1967
Wins a Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian scholarship to study at the Ravensboard College of Art and Design, in London.
1970
Completes her degree in London and starts working full-time for Gulbenkian.
